Sara Bryson

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Sara is a dedicated safeguarding leader with a passion for safeguarding and child protection.

Not only is Sara the DSL for the apprenticeship team, she is also the Safeguarding Officer for United Learning. With extensive experience in education and children’s services Sara has devoted her career to creating safe environments for both children and adults in order for them to achieve their full potential.

Claire Jeens

Head of Apprenticeships | Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Claire Jeens is Head of Apprenticeships at United Learning, providing strategic leadership for the trust’s apprenticeship provision. She leads the development and growth of high quality programmes that support workforce development across schools, ensuring excellence in quality, compliance and learner outcomes.

With over a decade of experience in education, Claire has extensive expertise in apprenticeship quality, funding compliance, safeguarding and curriculum development. She works closely with senior leaders to develop workforce strategies and build apprenticeship programmes that respond to the evolving needs of schools.

Claire is committed to creating high-performing teams, maintaining rigorous quality standards and driving continuous improvement, ensuring apprenticeships deliver meaningful impact for learners, employers and the wider education sector.
